We had a wonderful weekend in Florida getting to know Grandma Malone’s side of the family. Lilly got to meet her other great-grandmother along with great aunt and great uncle! Paul got to see his little cousin Shelly for the first time since she was less than a year old. I got to enjoy a little sun time on the beach with Paul, and one of the best parts was he didn’t burn! It was very relaxing and the first time we’ve gone out to eat without Lilly! Grandma and Grandpa babysat so we could enjoy a couple meals out! Poor Paul starting coming down with a cold the day before we went down there, and our little family got sick for the first time on the way back. Lilly looked so cute in her bikini! She got to put her feet in the ocean for the first time, and she didn’t like it! It sounds like she might be more like her dad than mom because Paul prefers it cold while I prefer it hot! It’s going to make for a exciting range of trips we can take as a family!

This was a VERY nice vacation and MUCH appreciated break. We stayed right on the beach overlooking the ocean with the largest private balcony I have ever seen. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, I was feeling a little under the weather, but I think we still had a pretty good time. Grandma and Grandpa babysat as Laura and I went to the beach and out for meals. It was our first time being away from Lilly for more than a couple of minutes, but she was in excellent hands. One night Laura and I came home from Angelo’s to find Lilly being pretty fussy and grandma looking very frazzled. I don’t know who was more excited to see us home, Lilly or grandma? You could tell grandma just couldn’t sooth her, not to her fault. I feel the same way much of the time. But seeing her frazzled gave me the giggles and I instantly got the picture of that commercial where a couple have left their baby with their parents and as they quickly drive off the old man says “DON’T LEAVE US WITH THE BABY!”
Frazzled is probably the right word at the time. Lilly wanted some milk, like most babies, but the parents took it with them and I had nothing to offer the pretty little baby and she felt like I was torturing her. The next time I babysat, for the day, they left me some milk and she was happy all day, and so was I!
